Recirculate Partners Meet in Oslo to Review Progress and Plan Ahead

12 November 2025, Oslo, Norway — Recirculate partners gathered in Oslo for a full-day General Assembly to review progress, share updates, and plan the next phase of the project. Hosted by Eco Stor, the meeting brought together organisations working on battery safety, dismantling, digital battery passports, second-life use, recycling, and community engagement.

The project continues to progress according to plan, with each partner presenting updates on their expected results and key achievements to date.

Progress Across Key Areas

Partners shared updates from each part of the project and the work expected to be delivered, including:

  • Battery safety and transportation: New insights into assessing battery health and improving safe logistics.
  • Automated dismantling: Early results from robotics testing for taking battery packs apart more efficiently.
  • Digital battery passports & marketplace: Progress on data models, interoperability, and the Recirculate marketplace MVPprototype.
  • Second-life and recycling: Latest findings from repurposing and sustainability assessments.

This General Assembly also featured a collaborative Circular Battery Marketplace workshop, led by Minespider, exploring user needs and data flows, followed by a visit to Eco Stor’s energy-storage facility, where partners saw real examples of second-life batteries in operation.

Looking Ahead

With six months remaining until the project concludes in April 2026, partners emphasised the importance of a strong final push to complete remaining tasks and consolidate results. The Oslo meeting strengthened alignment across all teams and set clear priorities for the months ahead.

Recirculate will continue developing practical solutions to support a more circular, transparent, and sustainable battery ecosystem in Europe — and will share project outcomes as the final results are completed.
